Hour of the Beast eBook C Michael Forsyth

What actually got me interested in C. Michael Forsyth's work was a fake article he had written, as a blog, about a researcher that gets lost in Iceland, only to be found a number of years later naked on some rock formation, murmering in some ancient forgotten language, with the only word syllabically understood as "alfur" to mean elf. This article went on to claim that this researcher, interested in elves, was search for proof of the mythical little creatures a number of years ago when she, conspicuously went missing. The article was obviously fake, and the image utitlized by this rather imaginative author was one of a nude beach bather stuck on some rocks. I thought to myself, "this guy has one hell of an imagination and I have to look him up, since I bet any stories he's written will be fabulously thought out and very imaginative." I wasn't wrong. This is probably one of the better horror stories I've read lately. After seeing the 5 star reviews I decided to purchase this for my Amazon Kindle. If you are looking for a good, imaginative, interesting horror story--this is where you should spend your money. I was thoroughly entertained for over 5 hours trying, along with the multitude of characters within the story to solve the mystery. Although somewhat formulaic, and I could easily see through the fore-shadowing of some characters, making correct guesses at who really was committing the atrocities on campus (ergo I wasn't surprised at all by the ending), it still was a wonderful story. I'd genuinely recommend this for any horror fan, and it's not for the faint of heart or for young adults really it's an adult novel. I honestly cannot wait until Mr. Forsyth's next novel comes out--I'll be purchasing it promptly, and I hope I can get to meet this amazing author at any horror conventions, or author conventions he decides to attend in the future to get him to autograph a hard copy of this book! This writer is pretty amazing with a tall beastly tale! (No pun intended...okay, a little pun intended.)

Hour of the Beast eBook C Michael Forsyth Reviews

Great book for werewolf fans. I've being reading werewolf horrors for two years now. This is now number 2 out of 15 I have read. So i say good 4 stare rating.
Fast paced. Good light reading. Interesting interpretation of the werewolf legends. Would like to see the story continue with all parties involved.
I would love to read more by this author. It was simply a great story told very well; I always love to read about different werewolf legends.
This book was very good for a werewolf book and I really enjoyed it! I heard it is going to be a series and I can only hope that is true because I want to read more!
One of the best werewolf books I have read in ages, I wish someone would turn this into a movie.... I am a fan of werewolf horror. This book takes me back to when the werewolves were monsters, not large puppies to be cuddled.

The setting of the book... is eerie and mysterious. Its like Hogwarts meets Dog Soldiers! Anyway Great Job Mr. Forsyth.
I was intrigued by the beginning chapters of this book. However, after reading for a couple hours I found myself unable to stay interested in the book. There are many words used in this book that I've never read/seen before and they are rather long. This isn't a bad thing but for me, it slowed my reading down because I had to re-read the word and in a lot of cases looked it up on my because I had no clue what it meant. This had a bit to do with my focus wandering.
I don't read much horror but I think I will start reading a lot more of this genre if Michael Forsyth writes it. I did not know what to expect but this book did not disappoint. When I heard that this was a book about a werewolf that went to college, I thought it was going to be a cheesy teen wolf like tale. Boy was I wrong! This book comes out unapologetically swinging right from the start. At times this book is brutal, rough and crass but it made the college characters much more believable. I would recommend it only to an older YA crowd, but would have no problem recommending it for any adult. I really like how the author incorporated some science and real werwolf lore into the story but still kept it very fast paced. The characters were very enjoyable but it did make me want to slap around the frat boy jerks. This book is down right frightening at times in a classic horror way. The author was excellent at working in some unexpected hidden plot twists. If I only had $20 left in the world, I would spend it to buy this book. Do yourself a favor and pick it up right now!
